Difference between thermal insulation brick and refractory fire brick

The main function of thermal insulation bricks is insulation and reduce heat loss. Generally, thermal insulation bricks do not directly contact flame, while refractory fire bricks generally directly contact the flame. Refractory bricks are mainly used to withstand flames. Refractory materials used to withstand flames can be divided into 2 types i.e.unshaped refractory materials and shaped refractory materials.
Unshaped refractory materials: Also called castable, it is a mixed powdery granule composed of multiple aggregates or aggregates with one or more binders. When being used, it must be mixed with one or more liquids and be stirred evenly. And it has has strong fluidity.
Shaped refractory materials: Generally refers to refractory fire brick. It has standard shapes. It can also be cut and processed according to requirement.
The difference between thermal insulation brick and refractory fire brick is as below.
1.Thermal insulation performance
The thermal conductivity of thermal insulation bricks is generally 0.2-0.4 (average temperature 350 ± 25 ° C) w / mk, while the thermal conductivity of refractory fire bricks is above 1.0 (average temperature 350 ± 25 ° C) w / mk.So the insulation performance of insulation bricks is much better than that of refractory bricks.
