Last issue we introduced tunnel kiln top insulation of lap joint of hanging refractory plate and straight wall. This issue we will introduce refractory hanging plate V-stitch packing and lightweight aggregate refractory mud seal.
2. The filling of V-shaped seam of refractory hanging plate.
The V-shaped seam of the refractory hanging plate must be filled with high-alumina aluminum silicate fiber needle-punched blanket. The thickness of the high-aluminum fiber needle-punched blanket used between the hanging plates is determined by the minimum size below the V-shaped seam, so that the thickness of the blanket can hardly be compressed, ensuring the compactness of the needle-punched blanket. When the high-aluminum needle-punched blankets are joined together, the two blankets must be 5mm longer and can be compressed tightly and without gaps when the butt is flattened. This should be done all during the construction. Otherwise, there will be a gap between the blankets, and the hot air will smash onto the top of the kiln, which will easily damage the kiln roof. The needle-punched blanket between the boards should be pulled out in the middle of the blanket so that the sides are overlapped on the hanging plate to prevent the stuffed needle-punched blanket from falling.
3. light aggregate refractory mud seal
The 20mm thick lightweight aggregate refractory mud layer on the top of the hanging plate is the first main kiln roof sealing layer. This sealing layer also can be made of aluminum silicate castable. No matter which material is used, this seal must be well done.
