Construction steps of tunnel kiln insulation brick 1

The thermal insulation project of tunnel kiln is a meticulous and cumbersome work, and every link in the construction process can affect the quality of later use. The thermal insulation project of the tunnel kiln mainly includes the insulation of the kiln wall, the kiln roof and the pipe for exhausting heat. The kiln wall and kiln roof insulation project is mainly for the laying of lightweight insulation bricks and the laying of insulation layers. The waste heat pipe is mainly wrapped with rock wool felt.
1. Kiln wall insulation.
All masonry on both sides of the tunnel kiln requires mortar to be full, while the ash joint of refractory brick and lightweight insulation brick masonry of internal wall should be less than 3mm, the mortar fullness should be above 90%, and the joints must be staggered.
First of all, in terms of the fullness of the internal wall brick seam, the inspection of multiple tunnel kiln proves that the fullness of the horizontal seam mortar can reach more than 90%, but the fullness of the vertical joint mortar does not reach 90%. Even 5~8% of the vertical joint appears to have mortar on the surface but actually there is no mortar. The mortar on the surface of the seam is post-smeared. In fact, the vertical joint is an empty seam. When the tunnel kiln is ignited, the refractory bricks and the lightweight thermal insulation brick masonry are under positive pressure in the kiln, the hot air flows from the hollow joints into the insulation layer, so that the surface temperature of the kiln outer wall greatly exceeds the designed requirements. A lot of heat is lost.
At the same time, there is expansion joint on the refractory brick wall at every length of a kiln car, so the furnace wall becomes independent short walls. Under the turbulence of the heat flow, it is easy to tilt the wall inward, affecting the life of the tunnel kiln.
This issue we mainly introduced the fullness of brick seam of tunnel kiln wall. Hope this can bring help to furnace builders. Next issue we will introduce the design of brick seam of refractory fire brick and insulation brick of tunnel kiln wall.
